If you go into the Escape Pods and find him, kill him and loot him, the objective should update.

If you go into the Escape Pods and don't find a phantom named kirk Remmer, quit the game and delete the lifesupport.level file from the manual# folder and try again.

Enter Life Support (you will know it worked when there are enemies and the level has reset) and make your way down to the Escape Pods.

Start the game and load the manual save from step 2.

Move the lifesupport.level file to another folder.

Go to your save game location and to the manual# folder for the save you made in step 2.

Go to the Cargo Bay and make a new manual save, then quit the game.

Make a backup of your current saves and disable Steam Cloud.
